Starting November 19th, kids and adults alike can immerse themselves in the vibrant rhythms and dances of Guinea, West Africa! In small group classes or private, individual lessons led by skilled teaching artists from the West African Cultural Arts Institute, participants will experience Guinea's vibrant polyrhythms and dynamic dance traditions.
Drum students will learn proper technique and form while discovering how individual drum parts interweave to create a powerful rhythmic orchestra, all within the context of Guinea's deep musical traditions.
Dance students will discover the beauty and athleticism of Guinea’s traditional and contemporary styles while enjoying a full-body workout accompanied by live drumming from their instructors.
All lessons will be held on the beautiful 72 acre campus of Oakhill School located next to Lane Community College at 86397 Eldon Schafer Drive in Eugene, Oregon.
